Marc Hirsch M.D., is a board certified and fellowship trained specialist in LASIK, refractive surgery, and cataract surgery. He is a partner at Eye Physician Associates. Eye Physician Associates has provided start of the art compassionate care to the Greater Milwaukee area for over 65 years. Dr. Hirsch has performed thousands of eye surgeries including professional athletes, local physicians and corporate executives.

Dr. Hirsch is currently the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at St. Luke’s Medical Center and is on staff at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee and Wheaton St. Francis. He works closely with many local optometrists for management of cataract surgery and complex corneal disease. He has created a continuing education program that is given twice per year and widely attended by local eye care providers. He has also been an invited speaker to Wisconsin Optometric Association conferences.

He is actively involved with many local ophthalmologic associations including Milwaukee Ophthalmology Society and Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology. He is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Hirsch was one of the first eye surgeons in Milwaukee to exclusively perform BLADE-FREE Lasik. He is one of the few ophthalmologists who provides personalized care for all preoperative and postoperative visits. He has undergone the procedure himself. He lives and works in Milwaukee with Eye Physician Associates multiple locations. Patients have convenient access to Dr. Hirsch when needed.

As a leading ophthalmologist in the community, he has remained on the cutting edge in private practice for over 10 years. Prior to entering private practice he completed a prestigious refractive surgery and corneal fellowship in Boston under Roger Steinert M.D. and Michael Raizman; two of the early pioneers in laser vision correction. Prior to fellowship, he completed a highly competitive residency in Ophthalmology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, where the use of lasers to perform vision correction was developed. These programs select 2 to 3 doctors per year out of hundreds of physician applicants.

Prior to residency he graduated in the top of his class from Chicago Medical School being awarded membership into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
